Job Description:

The Director of Human Resources (‘DHR’) will help to develop and execute the general and strategic people-related initiatives for GBFB while managing the day-to-day HR Operations.

The DHR administers or oversees the administration of Human Resource programs including, but not limited to recruitment, benefits and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and learning and development.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the talent management process to attract, hire, retain, compensate, and performance manage talent for our team.
  • Manage vendor relationships including but not limited to benefit brokers, insurance benefit providers, retirement plan service providers, etc.
  • Manage and execute the mid-year and year-end performance management process.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State and local recruiting and employment, unemployment, workers compensation, wage and hour, and benefit requirements.
  • Oversee the administration of all HR records including team member files, immigration, background checks, drug testing, etc.
  • Develop and execute a strategy for Team Member learning and development both in person and online.
  • Collaborate with external HR advisors, and attorneys as required.
  • Deliver timely data and reports for HR metrics including analytics including executing an annual Team Member survey.
  • Draft and update HR policies, Stand Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines with a review of all relevant SOPS periodically.
  • Lead in fostering a unified and balanced culture that inspires excellent performance and strong Team Member engagement in support of GBFB’s values.
  • Oversee and execute investigations, reporting and compliance relating to all team member complaints and accidents.
  • Develop and maintain a highly effective Human Resources Team; Directly supervising the Human Resources Manager and the Office Manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Excellent verbal, written, spreadsheet and presentation skills and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with project management.
  • Excellent use of judgment and discretion required relative to sensitive and restricted organization and team member information.
  • Capable of highly independent work, as well as being a team player and role model.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organizations HRIS and learning management systems.
  • Strong negotiation skills; using diplomacy and understanding as pillars to achieve successful outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management, Human Resources or related field; M.S. degree preferred.
  • PHR/SPHR certification or equivalent certification, preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years HR generalist/management experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully managing a progressive and high-performing HR Team.
  • Competence in team member relations and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit a minimum of 3 hours.
  • Lift up to 25lbs.
